Lunch & loot! (POST PONED until next week)

Today the darling Hubby made me pancakes and espresso for breakfast -what a good start to the day!

We have lunch planned with my older Sister, roast mm... (and Auntie gets to have cuddles with baby)...and then thank the heavens we also get to choose from some of Mom's antiques that she brought over from South Africa. Our house is a 1950's weatherboard, not a villa, sorry to disappoint. That style of home typically has small storage area's. Initially I said "No!" when looking at it with the Realtor, being pregnant, tired and limited financially: I looked around and thought it was way too much work to take on.

We send our eldest son to an amazing private school and I'm not working so, we couldn't afford to be fussy. Both my husband  & I felt strongly that making the decision to sacrifice to build into our children's character, friendships and spiritual life was of the utmost importance.

We also fell in love with the garden before the house.  Fruit tree's have been placed mainly along the perimeter of the property. Fejoia, lemon, papaya, loquat along with gooseberries and a passion fruit vine. But it was the wild area at the back section that really caught our imagination. Amongst the treasure trove of literature taught at Durban Girls High school, the Secret Garden was a favourite. I have always wanted to create my own!

Anyway, I look forward to posting the pictures of the antiques & possible finished areas of the house ( after all it is a work in progress). Quite a few things have remained in boxes due to a lack of storage and dare I say it, my hoarding!

During the week I will take a wander into the local town and show you around. Its quaint - its pretty and it's "unpretentious", apparently.

Aah, duty calls in the form of a cute cuddly 6 month old - enjoy your weekend all!
