1 MONTH IN.

So its been a month!

We have finally moved into our first home.
It was almost a ten month wait. We have had whirlwind of a year (year and a bit) just married, having a premature baby, buying a house. When our baby arrived via emergency c-section I stayed in Hospital for a month recovering, and then stayed temporarily in our Aunt's 1917 Villa.  A large space in comparison, and that is all that I miss! Our home is cosy and a beginner's delight, and mostly it's ours, our Helensville Haven.

*Historically the little town  of Helensville used to be called  Te Awaroa - "The Valley of the Long River".  In 1862 John Mcleod a pioneer from Nova Scotia, (timber /milling)  settled here and built his wife Helen a villa. It was aptly named "Helens Villa". The town adapted and adopted it to Helensville.

There are many beautiful old Villa's in the area, and some other commercial building's  such as the Old Post Office, still proudly bearing the towns rich history. Slowly the face of Helensville changed what once was a logging, milling town then became a farming district nowadays the draw has become tourism. This little place is a hive buzzing with experiences pleasures and places to relax. Adventure sports, hot thermal pools, golf, harbour cruises, dining out among the list of local activities. Yet it still retains it's small town charm.  Amongst all this is us a family of four only just stepping out in our adventure here. I plan to show you around and make you fall in love with this charming place!
